- OK, then there is no way around to re-load/ reinstall Netflix app on the TV, sorry for this news. Ask Your Own TV Question. Customer reply replied 9 months ago. Hi, I have a Panasonic Viera Smart TV and appear to have lost my Netflix app. Can you help please?
- Welcome to the Samsung forum on CNET! Samsung worked with CNET to create a forum where people can ask questions and talk about all Samsung products and get help with everything from HDTVs, Smart.
Determine if your TV is a Smart TV. Smart TVs connect to your home network, and can run media streaming apps such as Netflix. Connect your Smart TV to your home network. Open your Smart TV apps. Visit the Netflix activation website (see Resources) and enter your activation code to enable the Netflix app on your TV. 3 Select a title from the available categories of movies and television shows with the cursor buttons on your remote and press 'OK' to play your selection. This can be annoying if you have multiple accounts like a Wii or Wii U, Blu-ray player, Apple TV, PS3 and Smart TV all set up for Netflix streaming. But there is a way to break the link to your Netflix account from the actual device itself.

I own the 2011 Panasonic VIERA TC-P60ST30 60-Inch 1080p plasma. I'm using the Netflix application via the Viera Tools button. Netflix support told me some minor issues I'm having are because I'm using an outdated Netflix application. Is there any way to update my Netflix Appl on my existing TV? If this matters, I'm not sure what firmware version my TV is on but I'm doubting there is anything new these days for plasma's.

Doubtful.
There are so many devices for as cheap as $20-$40 that will add netflix and more. I would just get an external device. Fire TV stick, Roku, etc....

The external streamers are generally preferred as their manufacturers seem to be more dedicated to keeping the apps updated. If you're an Amazon Prime subscriber I'd recommend the Fire TV or Fire Stick, if not, then also look at Roku.

First, open Netflix on your TV and scroll up to the Menu row, and click the gear icon to open the Settings menu. Click Get Help, which brings up your Device Info details. Note the app version listed-use your phone or tablet to take a picture of the entire screen. Exit Netflix.
Now go into the TV's Smart Hub (or your set's equvililent), and check if the Hub/Vieracast menu allows you to delete or reinstall an app. I have a 2012 Samsung HDTV, and in its smart hub, you can reinstall an app by selecting it and clicking the Tools button on the remote. Hopefully your Panasonic provides you with a similar option.
If you can delete and/or reinstall, do so. Sign back in to your account and go back to the Netflix Settings menu, and Devices screen. Check if the app you just reinstalled carries the same version number, SDK Version, and UI Build you saw earlier. If everything is the same, then Panasonic may not be allowing the latest version of the NF app to be updated.

Even on my VT60 the Netflix app is horrible. I agree with the above, get a streaming device.

The 2011 Panasonic plasma is nothing like a Samsung TV. There is no app customization. Get any streaming device and it'll be better than the Panasonic built-in apps.

Thanks for that suggestion however, on my 5 year old Panasonic plasma there is not a gear or settings option on Netflix. post #9 of 12Old01-07-2017, 09:24 PM - Thread Starter

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. It looks like the recommended one is to buy a separate streaming device however, the issues I'm having are not serious enough to have to spend more money to view Netflix shows. I've already got the original Chromecast but I don't believe that works with Netflix.

$29.99 roku stick from NetflixHow To Reinstall Netflix On Panasonic Smart Tv
https://www.amazon.com/Roku-Express/...rds=roku+stick
There is a sling promotion for $20 that comes with a free roku stick if you pre-pay for one month of Sling. I have sling. I give it a 6.5/10. It's worth it for the stick, IMO.

The original Chromecast works with Netflix. Just need the Netflix app on your phone. post #12 of 12Old01-08-2017, 05:01 AM - Thread Starter

I tried this last night and surprisingly to me it worked however, the video quality was at BEST SD. I'll keep using the Panasonic app or maybe get a Roku. Thanks everyone.
